The Lincoln Civic Block Association was organized in 1956. The organization model was to keep the neighborhood safe and clean. Many community members worked with numerous city agencies and elected officials to maintain and upkeep the neighborhood. As you walk down our beautiful tree lined streets you will get the sense of what the original members worked so hard for. Go here for a brief timeline for LCBA from formation to now.

As shown on the map, LCBA’s original boundaries of the were Lincoln Place and St. Johns Place between Nostrand and Brooklyn Avenues, and New York Avenue between St. Johns Place and Eastern Parkway. To see a map with lots currently within LCBA’s boundaries, go here.
Since its founding, LCBA has continued to be a resource for the community by the community. This would not have been possible without the leadership of LCBA’s presidents and their respective administrations over the generations. To learn more about LCBA’s previous presidents, go here.
Buildings within LCBA’s boundaries were home to many individuals, including ones no longer with us, who either helped make LCBA what it has become or went on to gain fame and greatly impact the world around them. You can learn about some of these individuals on our Notable Neighbors page (click here).
To this day, LCBA hosts meetings and events that bring together neighbors from all generations. As these gatherings come and go, we seek to maintain an archive for future generations to explore. Go here to view the archive so far.
