We didn't make the Semi Finals but please note: we are still under consideration for Best Street Tree Beds, or Best Window Boxes. See post below dated June 15 for details on How to take care of your tree beds and other tips.
The Semi-final judging is July 10 through July 13. The final round is during the third week of July. Winners are announced July 31.
Let's work together to add some beauty to our blocks!

Save The Date: Our Annual Block Party will take place on August 12, 2017 from 11a.m to 8:00p.m. All those that want to be involved in helping and planning for the day, please step forward by: June 29, 2017 this will be our next meeting. To get involved:
- Come to our monthly meetings to help with planning
- Make suggestions for what you want to see at our Block Party
- Help organize an event for the day
- Spread the word with your neighbors, friends and family
We especially want parents with children to help this year so we can lots of activities for all the children in the block and the neighborhood.

Calling All Green Thumbs !
We are asking all neighbors to please join us tomorrow, May 20th, 2017 @ 9:30 a.m. As we paint the Flower Pots on the block @ LCBA. Each year we sign up for the Greenest Block. So this year we are excited that you will be joining us.
We are already entered and we hope that you will participate this year with us. Let paint the neighborhood green and let's get plating!

It is with profound and deep regret that we have to inform you of the death of Mrs. Josephine Hair. She was a long time resident of this community and served our block association for many years. She was the pillar of our neighborhood and did outstanding community service for our block association who could never be replaced. Viewing - March 2, 2017 on Thursday Time - 4:00PM to 7:00PM Funeral- 7:00PM to 8:00PM Service Place- Trinity Baptist Church - 179 New York Avenue Between Park and Prospect Place Repass- Will follow after the Service at Trinity Baptist Church. Our Prayers are with her daughters and family at this time.
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear friend and LCBA member, Lenore "Sissie" Burton on October 18, 2016. She was a long time resident of our community and the Block Association. She served as the treasure until the year 2000.
Her Service will be held this Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Bells Funeral Home on Sterling Place and Classon Ave.
Viewing will be at 1p.m to 4p.m and Service will be 4p.m to 6p.m. Her burial will take place Monday, October 24, 2016 at Rose Hill in NJ. Our Prayers are with her husband and family at this time.
Fall is here again, I hope your Summer was well. We will like to take this opptunity to thank everyone who participated in our Block Party 2016. We thank you all for time and contributions. We like to take this time to thank some special people who really came together and made this happen. Mrs. Josephine Hair our Vice President, Ms. OShun Layne, Ms Roslind Welch, Ms. Nadine, Mrs. Vicky, and countless others who planned and made this event possible. We Thank You!
Our next Fall Meeting will be October 20, 2016 @ 6:30 p.m and Our Annual Halloween Party will be held at our meeting area on October 29, 2016. Save the Date More details to come. We will have a lot of exciting things coming this fall season. We hope to see more young adults to come out to our meetings. Let's take an active approach this year to make strides in our community. Remember Unity is Strength!

Summer is here and our block party is right around the corner. This year Block Party will take place on Lincoln Place and New York Ave on August 13, 2016 from 12p.m to 8p.m. We are asking for your help and donations to make this block Party as successful as last years.
We are having another meeting on July 29, 2016 @ 5:00p.m. If you haven't signed up for a committee or gave a donation. Please reach out to us during that time. We need everyone support. Remember "Unity is Strength".
LCBA will like to wish Rosalind Jamison a very Happy Birthday. We are so thankful for all her hard work and dedication to the Lincoln Civic Block Association over the years. She is one fantastic lady. She exemplifies the meaning behind "Unity is Strength".

Mr. Ethelbert Welch, a retired LCBA Chaplin, had his 98th Birthday on May 22, 2016. He has been very active in our local area as an Electrician and community matters. He now resides a Crown Heights Rehab Ctr at 810 St.Marks Place.
We like to say Thank You to Mr Welch for his longtime support and help over the years. I hope he had a beautiful day.

Lincoln Civic Block Association is Entered into the BBG Greenest Block Contest!
The purpose of the Greenest Block in Brooklyn Contest is to promote streets cape gardening, tree stewardship, and community development in the borough of Brooklyn through block and merchant associations and other community groups. Winners will receive cash prizes or gardening tools, and all participants will be awarded a “recognition certificate”. For All Judging Criteria for "Greenest Block in Brooklyn" Contest please go to http://www.bbg.org/greenbridge/greenestblock for details.
All Blocks are entered!
Winners will be announced in August 2016!
