Have you used the Little Library on Lincoln Place and New York Avenue? Thanks to David, Celeste, Alice, and Hazel. They created, painted, and assembled the first LCBA Little Library.

LCBA Community Clean Up Days!

• Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 10 AM and/or Sunday, October 18,2020 at 11 AM

• Join your neighbors in the LCBA Community Clean Up Day!

• Meet at the Lincoln Civic Block Association at 284 New York Avenue, corner of New York Ave. and Lincoln Place.

We need participation of all neighbors in LCBA. Pitch in and encourage others to pick up trash in the vicinity of your home, clean out debris and trash in tree pits and clear weeds that have grown on and around the curb. Help those who are not able to do so.

Let’s all pitch in!

2018 BBG Greenest Block Win! + LCBA Block Party Planning

Just a Reminder: The 3rd Planning Meeting for the Lincoln Civic Block

Association Block Party will be held on:

Date: Sunday, August 12, 2018 - Time: 5PM - Location: Block Association Building

As you know, this year the Block Party will be held on Lincoln Place between Nostrand and New York Avenues on Saturday, August 18, 2018. Please join us as we finalize our Block Party plans. Find out how you can help, it is not too late to get involved. Simply show up at the meeting and volunteer. We need participants to man the different stations, supervise games and activities. We hope to see you soon!

Congratulations to (2nd Place Winners (Tie) in The Greenest Block 2018 Contest to Lincoln Place between New York and Nostrand Avenues. We say "yay" and thank you, to all the members who participated. The hard work and dedication that was displayed paid off big time :)

The Greenest Block 2018

The Lincoln Civic Block Association joined the Greenest Block for another year. We are so happy to report our neighbors are doing a wonderful job. Making our blocks green! Our winner from last year is Althea Joseph is spearheading the group along with Sandra Layne, Perri Edwards and other members of LCBA. We so happy to report it is bridging the gap and everyone is excited and happy to be apart of the contest and working together to enhance the blocks. The  second round of judging will take place on July 10th, 2018.

We are happy to announce Lincoln Place between Nostrand and New York Ave is a contender this year. Way too Go! Also Save The Date: Greenest Block Press Conference will be held on Wednesday, August 1st, 2018 at 10:00 a.m the location will be winning block, Stay tuned!

No RSVP required.

They we’ll be gathering on the winning residential block to announce the winners in residential, commercial, street tree beds, community gardens, and storefront categories.

Greenest Block Update!

As Per BBG,

We didn't make the Semi Finals but please note: we are still under consideration for Best Street Tree Beds, or Best Window Boxes. See post below dated June 15 for details on How to take care of your tree beds and other tips.

The Semi-final judging is July 10 through July 13. The final round is during the third week of July. Winners are announced July 31.

Let's work together to add some beauty to our blocks!

Flower Pot Painting Event

Calling All Green Thumbs !

We are asking all neighbors to please join us tomorrow, May 20th, 2017 @ 9:30 a.m. As we paint the Flower Pots on the block @ LCBA. Each year we sign up for the Greenest Block. So this year we are excited that you will be joining us.

We are already entered and we hope that you will participate this year with us. Let paint the neighborhood green and let's get plating!

LCBA News: LCBA Entered BBG Greenest Block Contest

Lincoln Civic Block Association is Entered into the BBG Greenest Block Contest!

The purpose of the Greenest Block in Brooklyn Contest is to promote streets cape gardening, tree stewardship, and community development in the borough of Brooklyn through block and merchant associations and other community groups. Winners will receive cash prizes or gardening tools, and all participants will be awarded a “recognition certificate”. All Blocks are entered!

Winners will be announced in August 2016!
